The Hexinverter VCNO is a voltage controlled noise source with three distinct noise outputs (all of which can be used simultaneously) and modulation control over its frequency range. There’s also a DC coupled gate output so randomized gates can be synced with an external clock. Patching a signal into the external clock input will allow one to achieve synchronized random gates! This makes the module especially suitable for drum-oriented patches.
- LFSR (Linear Feedback Shift Register) algorithm implemented using discrete analog parts and logic ICs
- PITCH generator capable of frequencies up to half a megahertz
- With the pitch knob turned fully clockwise this will output pure white noise
- As the pitch is turned down, the noise evolves into crunchy noise
- GATE is a DC-coupled output
- SCREECH, SIZZLE AND TEAR have their own unique sonic characteristics
- All outputs work simultaneously and are simultaneously affected by the pitch knob or CV
- The frequency of VCNO can be modulated via CV
- Bipolar attenuverter for CV
- A switch on the back lets you select either logarithmic or linear response at the CV input jack
