The M-Audio Keystation 61 MK3 is a MIDI keyboard controller designed for sequencing music and playing virtual instruments on a Mac or Windows computer. It features 61 full-size, semi-weighted, and velocity-sensitive keys for a realistic, pianistic feel. The Keystation 61 MK3 also sports a series of controls that expand the range of playable notes, while providing expressive capabilities as well.
Assignable transport and directional controls allow for playing, performing, and recording with music software without using a mouse or trackpad. If you've got your own sustain pedal, you can plug it into the Keystation 61 MK3 via its 1/4" sustain pedal input.
Lightweight and durable, the controller is USB-powered, class-compliant, and supports USB-MIDI connectivity. A 5-pin DIN MIDI output facilitates use with your favorite, compatible synth, so it can receive messages from the Keystation 61. Additionally, the unit supports iOS connectivity using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (available separately), enabling one to perform and compose with audio apps on an iPad or another iOS device.
Keyboard sounds can be achieved via three included AIR Music Technology soft-synths: The Mini Grand, with seven acoustic piano sounds, and the Velvet, which gives you five vintage electric piano sounds. Additional software includes Skoove and Melodics. You also get 2GB of Touch Loops material to foster your creativity. The keyboard comes with a USB type-A to USB Type-B cable.

Native Instruments NKS (Native Kontrol Standard) is a framework developed by Native Instruments to enhance integration between software instruments/effects and their hardware controllers. It provides a standardized interface that allows compatible plugins—both from Native Instruments and third-party developers—to display parameters in a consistent, user-friendly format on devices like Komplete Kontrol keyboards and Maschine systems. Current users will receive the software bundle once they register their device and both existing and new owners will receive the software bundle once their hardware is registered.
Key features include:
-
Unified Control: NKS maps plugin parameters directly to hardware controls, allowing for hands-on adjustments without navigating computer menus.
-
Efficient Workflow: It streamlines browsing, loading, and editing presets, enabling producers to stay focused on creativity.
-
Broad Compatibility: Many third-party developers support NKS, offering a wide range of compatible sounds and effects.
-
For Our Products: This integration allows Akai and M-Audio compatible devices to fully utilize all NKS workflow features.
