The Bubblesound DiOD is a compact multimode Eurorack filter inspired by the classic Steiner-Parker VCF design, offering a wide range of tonal shaping from subtle filtering to aggressive resonance-driven distortion. It is designed for both musical filtering and more experimental sound design applications.
The module provides three selectable filter modes: lowpass, bandpass, and highpass, allowing flexible spectral control over incoming audio signals. It includes an input level control for gain staging, along with two CV inputs, each equipped with its own attenuator for precise modulation of cutoff frequency and filter response.
At higher resonance settings, the DiOD can self-oscillate, effectively functioning as a sine wave oscillator. This allows it to be used not only as a filter but also as a sound source for melodic or percussive synthesis. With increased resonance and gain, it can also enter more aggressive tonal territory, producing saturated and harmonically rich textures.
