Dreadbox KINEMATIC is a VCA based Compressor and an Envelope Filter effect pedal suitable for fretted instruments and synthesizers, with eurorack compatibility.
Kinematic is a Greek based word (Κίνημα), which describes motion – of points, bodies or systems of bodies, without the consideration of the forces that cause them to move.
The Dreadbox Kinematic features two primary modes - Comp Color and Env Filter. In Comp Color mode, the Kinematic's compressor kicks on, with the Envelope knob controlling the ratio and the Filter knob acting as a frequency boost. The Comp Color mode pairs excellently with the drive control, allowing users to dial in everything from subtle overdrives to a wall of speaker-shredding distortion.
In Env Filter mode, the Kinematic turns into an autowah machine, with the Filter knob controlling the lowpass filter and the Envelope knob controlling the sensitivity of the effect. This mode is excellent for achieving any tone, from old-school funk to grinding, gritty autowahs, perfect for screaming lead lines. And, for all the synth lovers out there, the Kinematic features three patch points for seamless integration into modular synth rigs.
