Michigan Synth Works SY-1 Drum Synth Expended IO - Gray.
The SY-1 Drum Synth from Michigan Synth Works is a faithful reproduction of the highly sought after Pearl Syncussion, delivering classic percussion tones with a sound and form-factor that perfectly recreates the original device. With two dual-oscillator voices, each with six modes providing a variety of classic tones, the SY-1 offers new flavors to your percussion section that will continue to inspire after countless sessions.
With expanded I/O including both analog voltage control and MIDI, its easier than ever to get the most out of this classic synth in any set up. Whether you're using it as a simple two-drum percussion instrument, sequencing both voices as melodic monosynths, or going for the classic application as an extension to your acoustic drum set, the SY-1 is ready to rock with powerful bass drums and toms, snappy snares, sizzling cymbals, and classic monosynth tones.
Sculpting sounds on the SY-1 starts with selecting one of six modes, including single oscillator voices for pure kicks and toms, FM tones for cymbals and bells, a noise source for classic snares, and more. From here, each voice features controls for tuning, envelope decay, a pitch sweep, LFO, and a sample and hold. With CV control things can get even more interesting, as the SY-1 is designed to respond dynamically to triggers between 0-8V, adding musical variations which give an organic feel to drum parts. For classic drum synth tones with modern control, the SY-1 from Michigan Synth Works is a powerful percussive companion in any studio.
