Four Distinct Compressor Circuits:

• Vintage Circuit 1: The iconic "mid-forward" character, perfect for adding warmth and presence to vocals, bass, drums, and guitars. Expect softer highs and lows compared to the Black 116, with articulate transients due to its midrange character.
• Vintage Circuit 2: Inspired by a meticulously refurbished "rev A" unit, this model boasts bigger lows, smoother mids, and highs, making it ideal for drum room mics and vocals that need extra "bigness."
• Modern Circuit 1: This circuit excels on close mics. Set the attack to its slowest and release to its fastest for impactful snare sounds with extended decay. It also adds an edgy character to bass guitars, and tightens up kick drums when the release is adjusted.
• Modern Circuit 2: Experience a breathy, punchy low end and a smooth top response. This versatile compressor shines on drum busses, full mixes, and even with the Hi Pass filter engaged. (For full mixes, try the slowest attack, fastest release, and HP filter on with 10dB compression and a 25% mix knob setting for incredible energy.)

Effortless Parallel Compression:

The Blue Series takes the complexity out of parallel compression with its intuitive Mix control. Dial in heavy compression for enhanced punch, then adjust the mix knob to taste (around 25%) to avoid an overly compressed sound. The Hi Pass filter lets the compressor focus on the desired frequencies while preserving low-frequency impact.
