LIVEN 8-bit Warps from Sonicware is a compact yet powerful eight-bit synthesizer with four synthesis engines. Each of its four synthesis engines (WARP, ATTACK, MORPH, and FM) provides a unique and vast range of sonic opportunities capable of taking the synth into countless distinct musical directions. Each algorithm includes three program-dependent controls to shape and alter the characteristics of the selected engine. Further shape your sound with the resonant multi-mode filter with low pass, band pass, or high pass modes. The onboard effects include reverb, delay, chorus, and a flanger. While the synthesis engines are 8-bit, the effects processor features 32-bit algorithms for high-quality performance. In addition to the onboard synthesis options, it also processes external sounds through the stereo input.
The 128-note step sequencer drives the Liven with both real-time and step recording functions. Not just confined to straight-forward sequencing, it also includes slice, stutter, and random modes for extended sequencing techniques. Save and recall up to 128 patterns with pattern chaining to expand the sequencing possibilities. The sequencer also includes sync input and output on 3.5mm jacks, perfect for use with Volcas, Pocket Operators, or modular sequencers to keep all your synths in time. In addition to the sequencer, a four-track looper provides a dynamic way to layer your sounds and play over them.
While the eight-bit synthesis engines and portable form factor may look simple, LIVEN 8-bit Warps packs a ton of power under the hood.
