Javelin from WMD is an ADSR envelope with integrated VCA, combining two essential synthesizer functions under one panel. The envelope is an ADSR envelope with controls for attack, decay, sustain, and release. Three level ranges provide control over the overall amplitude of the envelope while the three time ranges of the envelope provide everything from super snappy to extremely drawn out envelopes. Three envelope shapes sculpt the behavior of the envelope with linear, moderate exponential, and steep exponential curves to the ADSR. Looping mode automatically retriggers the envelope without the need for an external gate, allowing the envelope to function as an LFO. CV control over attack and decay/release allows for automatic and dynamic changes of the envelope shape and time.
What really makes the Javelin unique is the accent input. While the accent is high, multiple gate inputs will cause the envelope to rise higher in amplitude with every successive gate, creating an expressive and dynamic way to modulate the VCA or external modulation destinations such as filters. The accent also acts as a CV input, allowing you to tailor the accent level to your needs with three ranges. The reset input stops the envelope in its tracks, which works great on long envelopes or for interrupting sequences. Javelin is a unique and expressive module that combines a VCA and envelope for an extremely full featured module in a small footprint.
