Smart 1 to 4 Sequential Switch
SS14 is a bidirectional Sequential Switch to which we added some special features.
Even though there's no obvious way to control it at first sight, the sequence length can be set from 1 to 4 steps. The greatest of the O/I jacks used simply sets the length of the sequence.
A toggle switch on the front panel sets whether SS14 works in loop or random mode.
In loop mode, with only O/I1 used, SS14 will open/close the connection to the common I/O, following the level on the Clock input. As soon as O/I2 or up is used, SS14 will work as a traditional sequential switch.
In random mode, with only O/I1 used, the connection to the common I/O will be randomized at each rising edge on the Clock input. As soon as O/I2 or up is used, SS14 will randomly select an O/I jack within the range set by the upper limit.
The Reset input is asynchronous, and in both modes, it will force O/I1 to be selected.
On the back of the unit is a triple shunt that is used to normalize the O/Is (1>2 / 2>3 / 3>4) which can be useful when clocking SS14 with a steady clock instead of a sequenced trigger or gate.
