Doepfer A-140-3 Micro ADSR
The Doepfer A-140-3 Micro ADSR is a compact voltage-controlled ADSR envelope generator combining traditional Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release control with flexible voltage control over envelope timing.
The envelope uses exponential curve shapes based on capacitor charging and discharging behavior. Dedicated controls are provided for Attack, Decay, Sustain level, and Release, with Attack, Decay, and Release times spanning approximately 1 ms to 30 seconds.
Separate Gate and Retrigger inputs allow conventional keyboard-style envelope operation as well as retriggering while a Gate remains active. Input signals should fall within approximately +5V to +12V for reliable operation.
The CVT input provides voltage control over the envelope's timing parameters. An associated attenuator sets the amount of timing modulation, while internal jumpers determine which stages respond to CVT. Possible configurations include control over individual stages or several time parameters simultaneously.
The CVT socket can additionally be normalized internally to a fixed voltage. This enables the CVT control to serve as a manual global time control, simultaneously changing selected envelope stages without requiring an external modulation source.
Two envelope outputs are available. Output 1 delivers the normal envelope, while Output 2 can be configured internally for either normal or inverted operation.
The output level reaches approximately +10V at the Attack peak, and a front-panel LED follows the envelope signal for visual monitoring.
