Vue d'ensemble : Le module A-143-1 est un générateur d'enveloppe complexe composé de générateurs d'attaque et de déclin. Pour le générateur d'enveloppe complexe, les quatre unités sont reliées en guirlande, c'est-à-dire que l'unité précédente déclenche l'unité suivante. Les quatre unités peuvent être utilisées comme quatre générateurs AD séparés (position du commutateur AD) ou comme des LFO de type AD (position du commutateur ).
Détails : Le module A-143-1 contient quatre générateurs d'enveloppe distincts de type attaque/décroissance. Chaque unité peut être commutée en mode de fonctionnement libre (mode LFO). Le mode LFO diffère en plusieurs points d'un LFO ordinaire (comme A-145, A-146 ou A-147) : Les pentes sont exponentielles, contrairement aux pentes linéaires d'un LFO normal, et la fréquence est définie par les deux commandes. La commande d'attaque définit la durée de la pente ascendante, la commande de décroissance la pente descendante.
Chaque unité dispose d'un comparateur qui compare la tension de sortie AD à un seuil réglable manuellement et qui fait passer la sortie correspondante du comparateur (Cp 1...4) à "high" dès que la tension de sortie AD passe dans la phase de décroissance en dessous de cette valeur. La sortie du comparateur est normalisée à l'entrée de déclenchement de l'étage suivant via le contact de commutation de la prise d'entrée de déclenchement. Par conséquent, la première unité déclenche la deuxième, la deuxième déclenche la troisième et ainsi de suite.
Chaque générateur AD est équipé d'un polariseur (voir le polariseur contrôlé en tension A-133 pour plus de détails sur la fonction du polariseur) et d'un mélangeur qui additionne toutes les sorties du polariseur. Cela permet d'additionner tous les signaux de sortie AD/LFO inversés ou non inversés avec un niveau réglable vers la sortie de mixage. En outre, une sortie unique (Env 1...4) est disponible pour chaque unité.
Si l'entrée de déclenchement de l'unité 1 est contrôlée par un signal de porte normal (par exemple, à partir d'un clavier ou d'une interface MIDI-to-CV/Gate), on obtient un signal d'enveloppe très complexe à la sortie de mixage. Le signal contient 8 segments contrôlés par Attack 1, Decay 1, Attack 2, Decay 2, Attack 3, Decay 3, Attack 4 et Decay 4. La transition entre les étapes (c'est-à-dire lorsque le générateur AD suivant est déclenché) est contrôlée par le bouton de seuil. La contribution positive ou négative de chaque unité au signal de mixage est réglée à l'aide de la commande Mixing Polarizer. Si l'entrée de déclenchement de l'unité 1 est contrôlée par la sortie du comparateur de l'unité 4, on obtient un LFO à 8 étages.
Les sorties AD individuelles peuvent être utilisées pour contrôler des VCA ou des VCF qui s'ouvrent l'un après l'autre en fonction des signaux AD (un peu comme le générateur Shepard A-191).
La connexion par défaut entre les quatre unités (CPn = Trig.n+1) peut être interrompue en branchant des câbles sur les entrées de déclenchement. Par conséquent, les quatre unités peuvent être utilisées comme générateurs AD ou LFO séparés. Dans tous les cas, le signal de mixage est disponible (par exemple, mixage de quatre générateurs AD ou LFO avec niveau et signe réglables).
En mode LFO, la sortie du comparateur sert de sortie rectangle LFO avec largeur d'impulsion réglable (= contrôle du seuil).
Chaque unité est équipée d'un affichage LED séparé pour l'enveloppe et la sortie du comparateur. Le temps d'attaque/décroissance le plus court est d'environ 5 ms, les temps d'attaque/décroissance les plus longs sont d'environ 3 secondes (attaque) / 10 secondes (décroissance). En changeant la valeur d'un condensateur, le temps le plus court peut être modifié.
