Doepfer A-190-9v Micro Midi CV/Gate Interface Vintage Ed
The Doepfer A-190-9v is the Vintage Edition of the compact A-190-9 Micro MIDI-to-CV/Gate Interface, providing straightforward monophonic MIDI control of an analog modular synthesizer in just 2 HP.
Incoming MIDI note information is converted into a standard 1V/octave pitch control voltage and Gate signal. Three internally connected CV outputs carry the same pitch voltage, allowing one MIDI-derived CV signal to be distributed to multiple destinations without an additional multiple.
The CV output range is 0 to +5V. By default, MIDI note 36 corresponds to 0V, and the pitch scaling is factory-adjusted to exactly 1.00V/octave. Fine calibration is available internally.
Two linked Gate outputs provide 0/+10V signals, and a front-panel LED displays Gate activity.
MIDI input is provided through a 3.5 mm TRS connector. Internal jumpers allow the socket to be configured for either of the two commonly used TRS MIDI wiring standards.
The A-190-9 processes MIDI note numbers and intentionally omits more advanced MIDI functions such as velocity, pitch bend, control changes, and MIDI Clock. This streamlined architecture makes it ideal for applications where only dependable pitch and Gate conversion is required.
The MIDI input can also be internally normalled to the MIDI output of compatible Doepfer modules such as the A-155-2 or A-198-2. The A-190-9 can additionally function as a simple MIDI In/Out breakout interface for compatible modules.
