Le TLM 49* est un microphone de studio à grand diaphragme, avec une directivité cardioïde et un son chaud, particulièrement optimisé pour les performances vocales. Il est livré en kit, avec une suspension élastique.
Le design s'inspire de celui des légendaires microphones M 49 et M 50 des années 1950. Naturellement, le TLM 49 est doté de la finition nickel mat typique de Neumann. Le "design sonore" est également orienté vers celui du M 49 et du U 47.
En associant son look rétro à la technologie éprouvée des circuits sans transformateur de Neumann, ce microphone garantit un faible bruit propre et l'utilisation de niveaux de gain élevés.
Applications
Au cours de la phase de développement, le son a été ajusté lors de tests pratiques approfondis, afin de rendre le TLM 49 idéal, en particulier pour l'enregistrement de la voix et de la parole. Cependant, il convient également aux applications instrumentales dans les studios de production professionnels et aux enregistrements domestiques exigeants.

La capsule à grand diaphragme du TLM 49 offre une directivité cardioïde avec une tendance à la supercardioïde, grâce à la construction spéciale de la capsule. A l'instar du M 49, les hautes fréquences sont plus directionnelles. Le diamètre de la capsule est de 34 mm.
L'avant du microphone est indiqué par le logo Neumann rouge sur le corps du microphone. La capsule est orientée de façon à ce que le microphone soit adressé par l'avant.
Caractéristiques acoustiques
Le TLM 49 utilise la célèbre capsule K 47, également utilisée dans le M 49 et le U 47. La capsule présente une réponse en fréquence linéaire jusqu'au haut médium. Au-dessus de 2 kHz, on observe une légère augmentation de la présence jusqu'à 3 dB.
La capsule est entourée d'une grande grille de microphone, qui est acoustiquement très ouverte et donc neutre du point de vue du son.
Caractéristiques électriques
Les lettres TLM signifient "microphone sans transformateur". Avec la technologie TLM, le transformateur de sortie habituel est remplacé par un circuit électronique.
Comme avec les transformateurs traditionnels, il assure une bonne réjection en mode commun et empêche les interférences RF susceptibles d'influencer le signal audio équilibré.
Les signaux de bruit qui affectent la ligne de modulation équilibrée sont donc efficacement supprimés. Le microphone peut fonctionner à des niveaux de pression acoustique allant jusqu'à 129 dB sans distorsion, et offre une plage dynamique de 117 dB (pondérée A).
Sécurité de fonctionnement
L'ensemble de la structure intérieure est monté de manière élastique, afin d'éviter la transmission des bruits de structure. En outre, la capsule est montée sur un support antichoc en caoutchouc.
Grâce à sa large réponse en fréquence, le TLM 49 peut également transmettre des signaux à très basse fréquence sans coloration. Bien entendu, cela signifie que le microphone est également sensible aux signaux sonores tels que les bruits de vibration et les bruits de vent dans cette gamme de fréquences. C'est pourquoi le TLM 49 est fourni avec la suspension élastique EA 3, qui protège efficacement le microphone des bruits de structure. Si le microphone est utilisé à une distance extrêmement proche, un écran anti-pop PS 15 ou PS 20 a peut être utilisé devant le microphone pour assurer une protection contre les sons plosifs.
