At its core, the SSL 1 features a high-performance SSL-designed microphone preamp with +48V phantom power, a built-in high-pass filter, and Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement for adding subtle harmonic character inspired by SSL’s iconic 4000-series consoles. With clean gain and low-noise performance, it captures vocals and instruments with clarity and detail.
It includes a dedicated instrument/line input for guitars, bass, synths, and drum machines, plus balanced monitor outputs and a powerful high-current headphone output for accurate monitoring. The interface supports class-compliant operation for Mac, PC, and iOS devices, and can be bus-powered or run from a 5V external power source for mobile setups.
Advanced features include 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, low-latency monitoring with a mix control, DC-coupled outputs for CV control of compatible synth systems, and three stereo loopback channels designed for streaming and content creation workflows.
