The Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 is a versatile 2-in/4-out USB audio interface designed to bring professional recording features and hands-on control to home studios, mobile setups, and content creation. With two Tone Shaping Preamps, 32-bit / 192 kHz audio conversion, dual Hi-Z instrument inputs, and a full-color Smart Display, Volt 2 makes it easy to capture vocals, instruments, and stereo sources with detailed sound and classic analog-inspired character.
The two Tone Shaping Preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain and three selectable modes—Warmth, Focus, and Shine—giving you different tonal characteristics inspired by classic analog preamps. Both inputs can accommodate microphones, line-level sources, or instruments, with independent 48V phantom power available for each channel. Auto-Gain automatically sets appropriate recording levels, while Clip Protection helps prevent unexpected peaks from ruining a performance.
A full-color Smart Display provides at-a-glance feedback for input levels and settings, making it easy to monitor your signals while recording. Volt 2 also includes stereo monitor and headphone outputs, along with four total outputs for flexible routing. Built-in loopback functionality allows computer audio to be combined with live sources for podcasting, livestreaming, video calls, and other content-creation applications.
Volt 2 Gen 2 is USB bus-powered and class-compliant, allowing it to work with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone setups. It integrates with the UAD Console app and LUNA Digital Audio Workstation, and the included software bundle provides a selection of UAD plug-ins and instruments for recording, mixing, vocal processing, effects, synthesis, and guitar amplification.
