The Universal Audio Volt 4P Max is a 12-in / 6-out desktop USB audio interface built for full-band recording, larger sessions, and producers who need multiple microphone inputs in a compact setup. With four Tone Shaping Preamps, onboard Max compression, 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, speaker switching, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, and a full-color Smart Display, Volt 4P Max combines versatile I/O with streamlined recording controls.

Four microphone/line inputs provide up to 60 dB of digitally controlled gain, allowing you to track multiple performers or instruments simultaneously. Each preamp features three Tone Shaping modes—Warmth, Focus, and Shine—for adding different harmonic characters to your recordings. Max Processing provides six onboard compressor presets for sources including vocals, guitar, bass, and drums, with 18 possible Tone and Max combinations.

The interface provides two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs along with additional line I/O for connecting external equipment. ADAT or S/PDIF optical input allows for digital expansion, while MIDI In and Out provide connectivity for hardware instruments, synthesizers, and controllers. Two stereo monitor outputs with Main and Alt speaker switching make it easy to move between two monitoring systems.

A built-in talkback microphone and two headphone outputs with a shared cue mix support tracking and collaboration, while loopback functionality makes Volt 4P Max suitable for podcasts, livestreams, and content creation. The full-color Smart Display provides at-a-glance information for levels, settings, and gain reduction, while Auto-Gain and Clip Protection help prevent unwanted clipping during recording.

Volt 4P Max is USB bus-powered and class-compliant for use with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. It integrates with the UAD Console app and LUNA, and includes a collection of UAD plug-ins, instruments, and additional third-party software.
