Le R24 de Zoom est un échantillonneur/mixeur/contrôleur DAW dense et polyvalent. L'appareil offre une lecture 24 pistes avec la possibilité d'enregistrer simultanément 8 canaux. Les microphones à condensateur stéréo intégrés permettent le talkback ainsi que le suivi des démos. Vous pouvez enregistrer vos fichiers directement sur une carte SD ou SDHC, ce qui facilite le transfert des fichiers sur un ordinateur pour une édition ultérieure si nécessaire.
Les huit entrées symétriques sont toutes des connexions combo hybrides XLR-1/4", avec un canal offrant une entrée Low-Z pour connecter une guitare ou une basse électrique. Six de ces canaux peuvent fournir une alimentation fantôme pour les micros à condensateur.
La table de mixage est également équipée de deux prises de sortie TRS 1/4" avec contrôle direct du volume. En outre, plus de 100 effets DSP d'envoi-retour et d'insertion sont présents, ainsi que des réglages indépendants de niveau, de panoramique et d'égalisation pour chaque piste.
Une autre caractéristique de ce mastodonte est sa fonction d'échantillonnage, avec jusqu'à trois banques de 8 pads. Chaque pad est sensible à la vélocité et peut accueillir un ensemble d'échantillons. Le R24 contient également une boîte à rythmes avec 160 sons de batterie et de percussion ; il peut sauvegarder jusqu'à 100 motifs créés par l'utilisateur pour les rappeler et les jouer plus tard.
Le R24 dispose également d'une prise en charge DAW étendue, avec des jeux de modèles pour les principaux DAW tels que ProTools, Logic et Ableton. Cet ensemble de fonctionnalités fait du R24 un outil de studio très flexible et un choix idéal pour les producteurs intermédiaires ou de chambre qui souhaitent créer des pistes complètes sur du matériel dédié.
